Submitted by MVFR on Fri, 01/25/2013 - 17:34

MVFR Members and Supporters,

We are excited to share with you big news of developments in Maryland and Delaware!  Our partners in both these states are making big strides in their efforts to replace the death penalty with responses to murder that better address the harms caused by violence and which keep communities safer in the first place.

Please consider passing the information below to your friends and family members in Maryland and Delaware via email, Facebook, and Twitter.  Also, note ways that you can help from wherever you are.

See this note from the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (NCADP):

In Annapolis, Maryland:

Monday, January 28th is the death penalty repeal lobby day and rally, and we need you there in person or virtually!

Monday's rally will be led by homicide victim's families who have been key leaders in this campaign.Supporting Senate Bill 276 is as much about repealing the death penalty as it is about standing with victims and their families to ensure they receive the support, respect and resources that they need. In addition to abolishing the death penalty in Maryland, the legislation also sets aside much-needed funds for agencies that provide support to families of homicide victims. Read More.

In Delaware:
